Link in Bio

What Does Link in Bio Mean?

By Soocials Lab · August 21, 2026

“Link in bio” means that the creator has placed a clickable web link in the profile or biography section of a social-media account. Instead of putting a long URL into every post, the creator tells viewers to open the profile and follow the link shown there.

The phrase became common because some social platforms limit where clickable links can appear. A profile link therefore acts as a persistent destination that can be updated without changing older posts.

A profile may allow only one prominent website link, while a creator or business may want to send visitors to several destinations: a website, shop, newsletter, booking page, YouTube channel, portfolio, latest article, or other social accounts. A link-in-bio page collects those destinations behind one URL.

Keep the page focused. Use a recognizable name and image, a short description, and a small number of clearly labeled links. Put the most important action near the top. Too many links can turn a simple profile hub into another navigation problem.

For a business, consider adding contact information, a primary service or product, and a way to join an email list. For a creator, the priorities may be the latest content, main social channels, merchandise, memberships, or sponsorship contact.

A link-in-bio page should load quickly on mobile because most visitors arrive from mobile apps.
